Zsofia Madi-Szabo
Co-Founder & Operations Lead
With over 25 years of experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, Zsofia is a co-founder of Groundswell Network. She has built out Groundswell’s operations infrastructure and has established its internal systems, processes and program strategy for growth. Before founding Groundswell, Zsofia worked at International Data Group, where she led complex research projects and managed an international team of analysts.
Zsofia started her career in technology investment banking in the early 2000s first at CSFB in Silicon Valley and later in Central and Eastern Europe. She returned to the USA to work with high-net-worth individuals on their philanthropic giving. She has also consulted with nonprofit organizations and worked with corporate social responsibility teams to improve operations and fundraising strategies and design programs, focusing on data-driven decision making to drive efficiency and impact.
Zsofia’s experience in anti-poverty work – first as a fundraiser and later as a community outreach lead helping to prevent homelessness for families unable to make rent payments during the pandemic - has led her to focus on finding systemic ways to support economically disadvantaged families through educational opportunities as a path out of poverty and toward opportunities.
